THE CORE

The Core is our youth group here at DCC, for those who are aged 11-18yrs. We want the young people to become rooted in their relationship with God, so that when challenges come their way, they can stand firm in their faith. We connect with our young people in various ways throughout the week.

We use our Instagram account, @thecore_dcc, to stay connected with our young people, and their parents, during the week. We post devotional thoughts and encouragements, and updates on what we have got planned in the coming weeks.

We believe that God speaks to us in many ways but one key way is through the Bible. Youversion is a fantastic Bible app where you can journey through a variety of plans together, giving opportunity the young people to share what stands out to them or what God is saying to them through the passage. Why not download the app and join us in journeying with Jesus together?

Youth Church

Youth Church takes place during the service on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of every month, in the Youth Lounge on the second floor of The Hope Centre. It is a space where the young people can dive deeper into their faith, explore the Bible together, and discuss questions they may have. The youth are in the service for the first part of the service, before heading over to the Youth Lounge in The Hope Centre. During the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, the youth stay in the service, as during these weeks we encourage the young people to serve in ministries of the church.

Sunday evenings

The Core gathers on Sunday evenings between 6-8pm, on the top floor of The Hope Centre. We have a time of catching up and games, followed by an input on life and faith, and then finish with team games. It is a great place to invite friends along to discover more about the Christian faith, and to have fun with each other.

retreats

We recognise how important retreats and festivals are for young people. These events create a space where youth can immerse themselves in worship and teaching, helping them to develop a deeper understanding of the Christian faith. They also provide a time and place for intentional bonding within the groups, helping friendships to be formed and strengthened, and encouraging them that they are not isolated in their faith. We will be attending Limitless Festival 2024, between Saturday 3rd to Thursday 8th August. More information will be sent to parents regarding this soon.
