The Core is a social hub for young people aged between 11 - 17. We come together every Sunday night 6pm-8pm at the Hope Centre. The Core is a place for young people to gather whilst being able to participate in various activities such as pool, table tennis and game consoles. It also has a cafe serving hot food alongside the usual tuck shop items. The aim of the evening is for the young people to have fun, build friendships and be encouraged and challenged for their week ahead. We also run Core Specials which include games and film nights. We also try to bring in guest speakers who can input into their lives.
Young people love spending time away with each other. It is an opportunity for friendships to develop and for faith to grow. We aim to do at least two retreats a year, one being the youth weekend away and Soul Survivor which is the summer youth festival. Dates for the weekend away will be released shortly. We will be going to Soul Survivor in Stafford from the 3rd-8th August 2019. You can see our previous Soul Survivor highlights by clicking here.
Youth Church includes a catch up and refreshments, before some quality teaching and interesting discussions. The sessions run the first three Sundays of the month. We have a fantastic team who teach from the bible and aim to apply the scripture into the young people's lives. We gather in church for the first half hour of the service and then we head over to the Hope Centre and meet in the Youth lounge at approximately 10.45am.
